OAA is involved in the community in several ways:
OAA is involved in the community in several ways:
- Rotating Art Program - gives emerging artists an opportunity to exhibit
their artwork at local venues such as City Hall and businesses.
- Donate time and money to various organizations through-out the
community.
- Offer free classes to inspire local citizens to enjoy art and get involved in
something creative.
- Scholarships for Chapman University Art students - OAA hosts the
'Orange Open' in August each year. With over 350 combined pieces of
artwork entered, selected artists have an opportunity to exhibit and sell
their art. A generous donation from the proceeds from the Orange Open
show is presented in the form of scholarships for Chapman University Art
students in December at the Chapman student art show.
- Holiday Paint Days at the Senior Center. OAA artists donate their time and
supplies for holiday projects.
- Donations to local organizations. Each December we have a special
meeting where we make something special and donate it to a chosen
charity. We also bring unwrapped toys for the children at the Orangewood
Home for abused children.
